Fair stones - natural stones without child labour
Panel discussion at the adult education centre
Local authorities, private individuals and cemeteries are increasingly using natural stone for their designs. The majority of natural stone now comes from India, Vietnam and China. International social and environmental standards play only a subordinate role in these countries. Child labour, but also dust, noise and poor working conditions are the order of the day.
The panel discussion - a cooperation between arche noVa - Initiative für Menschen in Not e. V. Dresden, the agenda21 office of the city of Chemnitz and the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre - is part of the Forum Eine Welt series. The One World Forum is dedicated to North-South issues and discusses problems of globalisation.
