Fair on 1 March and spring market at the end of March cancelled

Weekly market - retain shortened opening hours

Due to the ongoing corona-related situation, the funfair around the town hall planned for Monday, 1 March, cannot take place either. The current Corona Protection Ordinance continues to prohibit the organisation of fairs. Traders have already been informed.

This also applies to the spring market planned from 25 March to 3 April. It has been cancelled due to too few trader registrations. It can also be assumed that annual markets will still be prohibited at the end of March.

The regular weekly market will continue to take place and the current opening hours will also be maintained in March.

The number of visitors to the market has fallen enormously compared to previous years due to the coronavirus-related restrictions and the resulting lower footfall in the city centre, even though the traders still have a loyal regular clientele. A survey of traders revealed that the decline in visitor numbers was particularly noticeable in the late hours of the market and that it was no longer economically viable for some traders to run their stalls. As a result, the weekly market will continue to be open as follows from 2 to 27 March at the request of the traders:

  • Tuesdays to Fridays: 9 am to 4 pm
  • Saturdays: 9 am to 1 pm
