F.-O.-Schimmel-Straße construction project in the area of the connection to the Südring
From Monday, 13 September, the carriageway of F.-O.-Schimmel-Straße will be renewed in the area of the connection to the Südring.
As part of the construction work, traffic lights will be installed at the junctions of the slip roads to and from the Südring. The Thalheimer Straße railway track will also be upgraded.
The work is expected to take eight weeks.
F.-O.-Schimmel-Straße and the access and exit ramps to the Südring will be fully closed for the construction work in the affected area.
The diversion in a northerly direction will be via Werner-Seelenbinder-Straße and Reichenhainer Straße. In a southerly direction, traffic will be diverted via Thalheimer Straße, Saydaer Straße, Lengefelder Straße, Erfenschlager Straße and Reichenhainer Straße.
The construction project of the City of Chemnitz costs a total of approx. 440,000 euros. The company Chemnitzer Verkehrsbau GmbH was commissioned to carry out the work.
