Extension of the non-contributory pre-school year
Subject to the resolution for the 2021/2022 biennial budget, the city will extend the non-contributory pre-school year until 31 August 2021. The current resolution of the city council ends on 31 December 2020.
The decision is based on the "Statutes of the City of Chemnitz on the levying of parental contributions for the promotion of children in daycare centres, early intervention facilities, after-school care facilities for children from special schools and day care".
Parents whose children attend a municipal facility will receive a notice confirming the exemption from contributions for pre-school children until 31 August 2021. Parents of pre-school children who attend a centre run by an independent provider will receive parental information on the parental contribution from their independent provider. Notifications will be sent out by the end of the year.
Approximately 2,300 children currently benefit from the contribution exemption in the pre-school year. The city provides around 2,200,000 euros per year.
