Extension of the Chemnitz - Leipzig railway line

Public information event on Monday, 21 August, 10 a.m.

On Monday, 21 August, at 10 a.m., an information event on the expansion of the Chemnitz - Leipzig railway line will take place in the city council chamber in the town hall, to which the public is invited.

Mayor Barbara Ludwig will welcome Martin Dulig, Saxon Minister for Economic Affairs, Labour and Transport, and Eckhart Fricke, Group Representative of Deutsche Bahn AG for the south-east region, to the event.

Last year, the City of Chemnitz called on citizens to take part in the participation process for the draft bill for the 2030 Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan. Associations, organisations and, above all, citizens had the opportunity to express and submit objections to the list of measures on the website of the Federal Ministry of Transport.

In August 2016, the Federal Cabinet adopted the new Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan 2030. This includes the expansion of the Chemnitz - Leipzig railway line in the so-called potential demand.
