Extension of Dürerstraße in the section from Kantstraße to Reineckerstraße completed
With the acceptance of the roadworks tomorrow, Wednesday morning, Dürerstraße will be reopened to traffic in the section between Kantstraße and Reineckerstraße. The construction work began at the start of June 2012.
The upgrade included the renewal of the asphalt layers and the southern pavement. In addition, eleven planting islands and parking spaces for parallel parkers were created on both sides of the new road section.
The planting of the trees will be commissioned separately by the city's green spaces department following the construction work and is planned for the coming autumn/spring planting season.
Parallel to the renewal of the pavement, empty conduits were laid for Deutsche Telekom AG and the company eins energie in Sachsen.
The Chemnitz-based company Gunter Hüttner Bauunternehmung GmbH was the contractor for the construction project, which totalled around 133,000 euros.
