Expansion of Chemnitz Municipal Music School begins
Invitation for media representatives to the symbolic ground-breaking ceremony
On Monday, 3 June at 11 a.m., the Mayor of Chemnitz, Barbara Ludwig, and the Director of the Chemnitz Music School, Nancy Gibson, will perform the symbolic ground-breaking ceremony for the new extension to the municipal music school. A total of approximately €2.34 million will be invested in the building, of which the City of Chemnitz will provide €1.74 million in own funds.
Representatives of the media are hereby invited to attend.
There are currently 2092 pupils enrolled at the Chemnitz Music School. This means that the institution is reaching the limits of its capacity. The Chemnitz City Council therefore decided in favour of a new extension at the Gerichtsstraße 1 site. The construction project will be realised from June 2013 to July 2014.
