Exhibition SchulhausFREIEZeit

Invitation to the opening: 20 July, 2 p.m., entrance to the public health department

The exhibition "SchulhausFREIEZeit" will open on Monday, 20 July at 2 pm in the entrance area of the health department, Am Rathaus 8. On display are works by children who describe their time during the corona-related closure of their facilities.

Children from all primary schools, after-school care centres and day-care centres were able to take part. A wide variety of works were created. Young and old helpers report on what they experienced during the time when there was no school. The works tell of anger, powerlessness, loneliness, joy, solitude, activity, play, sport, fear and, above all, hope. It was and is a different format of learning. Not least about fears and worries about not being able to see grandma and grandpa again so soon. The children also talk about how they can protect themselves from illness. Small works of art - from posters to the self-designed "Corana" virus - have also been created.

The small "corona diary" of a first-grader speaks for the efforts and the new form of learning. Children have shown that they are capable of more than adults realise. "I would like to express my respect and especially my thanks to all the parents and above all the children," says Ute Spindler, the city's children and youth representative.

The exhibition of the works is being organised in cooperation with the public health department. The works will be presented in the window next to the entrance to the health department.
