The YouthArtTriennial of the Saxon-Bavarian City Network is taking place for the ninth time.

A total of 193 young people aged between 14 and 25 from the cities of Chemnitz, Zwickau, Plauen, Hof and Bayreuth and their surrounding areas took part in the competition with a total of 305 submissions. From Chemnitz, 56 young people took part with 88 entries.

An expert jury decided on the awarding of the prizes and the works that will be presented in Plauen. The jury member for Chemnitz was the artist and freelance lecturer Peggy Albrecht, who was herself a prizewinner in the first competition.

The entries were judged in two age categories: 14 to 18 years and 19 to 25 years. A total of four main prizes of 500 euros each and 20 recognition prizes of 200 euros each will be awarded.

Three of the Chemnitz participants will be honoured with a recognition prize.
22 entries from Chemnitz are represented in the exhibition.

Since 1998, the year it was launched, almost 4,000 young people have taken part in the art competition organised by the network of cities, and their creativity and initiative have made the JugendKunstTriennale a success.
