Exhibition in the Technical Town Hall: Student work on the neighbourhood on the northern Sonnenberg
An exhibition of student work on the northern Sonnenberg neighbourhood will be on show from today (21 August) in the foyer of the Technical Town Hall (located at Annaberger Straße 89). The exhibition presents urban development concepts that were developed as part of a bachelor's degree project at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg.
Under the direction of Professor Frank Schwartze's Department of Urban Planning and Spatial Design, the focus was on developing an urban development framework plan for the conversion of this old Sonnenberg neighbourhood to the east of Chemnitz central station. A comprehensive analysis of the current situation, the derivation of guiding principles, overarching development goals as well as fields of action and measures were at the centre of the students' work.
The topic of the exhibition is introduced in the foyer of the Technical City Hall with a poster designed by the City of Chemnitz's urban planning office.
The exhibition in the foyer of the Technical City Hall can be viewed here until Monday, 30 September 2013 during opening hours Monday to Thursday from 8 am to 5 pm, Friday from 8 am to 12:30 pm.
