Exhibition for the European Week of Local Democracy
Works of art by pupils from the Montessori School and talentCAMPus from 13 October at the adult education centre
From next Friday, 13 October at 2 pm, a joint exhibition of the TalentCAMPus of the Adult Education Centre and the Montessori School Chemnitz will be shown in the VHS Gallery in the TIETZ. The exhibition can be viewed until 16 November on the 5th floor of the TIETZ.
The Montessori school launched a project to sensitise pupils to the topic of democracy. The children designed symbols and texts with messages about tolerance and democracy. These were used to create clay tablets, which are presented in this exhibition. A variety of handicraft objects such as linocuts, collages and tiles are also on display, which were created as part of various talentCAMPi programmes at the adult education centre.
The talentCampus is a holiday education programme run by the German Adult Education Association for children and young people between the ages of 10 and 18. Every year, the VHS Chemnitz offers the "Intercultural Garden Workshop", in which children from all over the world spend a week working, crafting, making pottery, playing together, harvesting and cooking vegetables, mixing their own tea and creating their own art objects. The exhibition shows a selection of different works of art that have been created over the past two years.
