Exhibition "A city in transition" extended until 25 October - art project postponed to 23 October
"25 years - 25 things" - New date for art project on 23 October 2015 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Neumarkt with everyday objects from the GDR
Due to the bad weather forecast for tomorrow, the art event "25 Years - 25 Things" (see press release 600 from 13 October 2015) has been postponed by one week.
On Friday, 23 October 2015 "25 Years - 25 Things", 25 everyday objects will be set up on Neumarkt from 11 am. All of them are older than 25 years and borrowed from the collection of the Chemnitz-based company SBS Deko. Marcel Kabisch, Rose-Marie Güttler, Uwe Mühlberg and Guido Günther are the four artists on site who will be creatively realising their thoughts on the products until 2 pm.
The diamond bicycle, the telephone with a dial or the RG 28 hand mixer were popular, tried and tested and useful products in the GDR. After 25 years, they have disappeared from many households, but by no means from our memories. An art project in the exhibition "A city in transition. How Karl-Marx-Stadt became Chemnitz" takes a look at the products of the past. Depending on the art form, visitors can take the artworks with them free of charge on site.

The exhibition " A city in transition. How Karl-Marx-Stadt became Chemnitz" is thus extending its stay at Chemnitz Neumarkt. The 30 panels with old photographs and contemporary views can be seen until 25 October.
It can then be seen on the Tietz forecourt until 8 November. From 9 November to 30 November, the exhibition will move to the Moritzhof civic hall. In December, it will then welcome all travellers to the station forecourt.
The exhibition and the art project are supported by the funding programme of the Free State of Saxony "25 Years of German Unity and the Free State of Saxony".
50 institutions, private individuals and associations took part in the exhibition.
