Excursion through the Glösbach valley
The next excursion in the programme of monthly events organised by the volunteer nature conservation service is scheduled for Tuesday 26 August through the Glösbach valley in the north-east of Chemnitz: The Glösbach is formed from several forest streams in the northern Ebersdorfer Forest and flows in the first section north of and parallel to the railway line to Riesa, then through the fields to the west and flows into the Chemnitz in Glösa.
The "Natural History Hike through the Glösbach Valley" is led by Bernd Irmscher from the city's environmental department, the lower nature conservation authority: He will draw attention to protected areas, compensation areas, landscape conservation and the rare animal and plant species found here.
The meeting point is 5 pm at the junction of Schmidt-Rottluff-Straße and Walter-Meusel-Straße. Sturdy shoes and clothing suitable for the weather are recommended. Nature conservation helpers and interested citizens are cordially invited - participation in the excursion is free of charge.
