Excursion into the valley of the Jagdschänkenbach stream
The last excursion in this year's programme of monthly events organised by the voluntary nature conservation service will take place on Tuesday, 23 September in the valley of the Jagdschänkenbach stream. Gerd Fanghänel and Holger Tippmann from the city's environmental department, lower nature conservation authority, will present the compensatory and replacement measures that have been realised on site.
The meeting point for the excursion is 5 p.m. at the gate of the former Jagdschänkenbad on Jagdschänkenstraße. Clothing suitable for the weather and waterproof footwear are recommended. Nature conservation helpers and anyone else interested in the topic are cordially invited - participation in the excursion is free of charge.

Over 160 people have taken part in the six excursions organised by the volunteer nature conservation service so far this year. Monthly events are also planned for 2015. In the summer half-year, excursions to protected areas and other valuable nature conservation areas are on the programme from April to September, while in the winter half-year from October to March, lectures are held at the Chemnitz-Adelsberg nature conservation station. The events, which are organised and accompanied by the City of Chemnitz's environmental department, are open to the public and can be attended free of charge. At the same time, the lectures and excursions are also offered as further training events for the 70 volunteer nature conservation assistants currently appointed by the Environment Agency.
