Excess parental contributions paid during the lockdown will be refunded until the end of August 2021
The City of Chemnitz informs that parents whose children were and are not cared for in a Chemnitz daycare centre (daycare centre or after-school care centre) during the lockdown will be reimbursed the excess parental contributions paid. Parents whose children were and are being cared for in the emergency care centre must pay the parental contribution for the entire month.
The parental contributions will be debited from all parents in May and June, July and August 2021 in the usual amount according to the childcare contract by direct debit. Those liable to pay contributions without direct debit authorisation must pay these contributions on the usual due dates for these months.
The overpaid fees for March to May 2021 for parents whose children were unable to use emergency childcare will be refunded or offset by the end of August 2021 at the latest.
Due to numerous responses from parents who had to pay the parental contributions over several months in April 2021 or who had the parental contributions collected by direct debit in one go, the previous payment procedure was changed.
The further development from the month of May onwards still has to be awaited, as if the incidence falls below 165, the facilities can be opened in restricted regular operation.
