Events organised by the Municipal Music School in November 2020
Thursday, 5 November, 3 p.m.
DA CAPO - Music for seniors
Venue: Large hall of the Kraftwerk e.V.
Admission: 6 euros
This year's guests are Silke Arnold-Hösel, former music student at the municipal music school, and Jürgen Mutze. In an exciting and informative chat between Silke Arnold-Hösel and Jürgen Mutze, visitors will learn many interesting facts. The conversation will be accompanied by well-known Advent and Christmas carols.
Silke Arnold-Hösel is a counselling teacher and deputy head teacher in the area of special and integration education at the Protestant primary school "St. Katharina" in Frankenberg. She also supports her husband at "Tischlerei und Treppenbau Hösel" in Limbach-Oberfrohna. Silke Arnold-Hösel is no stranger to the cultural scene in Limbach. She organises concerts and exhibitions. As she has received good vocal training, she sometimes sings herself. She and Jürgen Mutze are united by their love of music.
Jürgen Mutze was born in Vogtland and is a versatile artist. He feels just as comfortable in operas as he does in operettas and musicals. For him, there is no difference between serious and light music, good music is simply good music. The fact that he is still able to slip into almost any role today is thanks to his wide-ranging studies in Weimar, where he not only trained as a singer, but also as a designer. His favourite role is undoubtedly the witch in Engelbert Humperdink's opera "Hansel and Gretel". It is not only tailor-made for Jürgen Mutze, it has also opened up new avenues for him.

Concert by the Dresden Composers' Class "Voyage à Dresden"
Venue: Concert hall - Chemnitz Municipal Music School, Gerichtsstr. 1, 09112 Chemnitz
Admission: 10 euros, reduced: 5 euros
"Voyage à Dresden" - family concert with new music by children and young people with the Chemnitz music school's youth orchestra "StreichHölzer" and the Collective lovemusic from Strasbourg.
The Collective lovemusic ensemble from Strasbourg will be performing new music by children and young people. The Chemnitz youth orchestra "StreichHölzer" will open the concert with an overture (dir: Andreas Winkler), before Emiliano Gavito (flute), Adam Starkie (clarinet), Christian Lozano (guitar), Vincent Lhermet (accordion) and Lola Malique (violoncello) perform entertaining compositions written by 8 to 18-year-olds.
The premiere project of the Dresden composers' class is characterised by the European idea and also includes pieces by young composers from Strasbourg. For the past three years, there has been a collaboration with composing students at the conservatory there, which has been particularly intensified despite the coronavirus restrictions. During the weeks of the lockdown, the young creative minds have exchanged ideas and encouraged each other across borders, music scans and sound recordings have been sent back and forth and the students have sought advice from the musicians in Strasbourg in video meetings.
Under the guidance of composers Silke Fraikin, Johannes Korndörfer and Annette Schlünz, they composed pieces "made to measure" for the ensemblewhich, among other things, deal with the theme of travelling, such as Helene's "Journey to the Musical Planet", Laura's "Journey of Thought", Tom's "Car Journey" and Gawein's "Journey to France".
The concert entitled "Voyage à Dresden" is an event organised by Ufer e.V./ WELTECHO with funding from the City of Chemnitz, the Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony and the Franco-German Civic Fund and is part of the KLANGWERK - New Music series.
