Soloists and ensembles from the rock/pop/jazz department treat the audience's ears to lively and flattering sounds, swinging melodies and rocking rhythms, wonderful voices and new hits.

DA CAPO - Music café at the Kraftwerk - "Land, people, life"

With Matthias Gagelmann - violoncello and Emi Suzuki - piano
The two musicians will whisk our audience away to interesting cultures and fascinating habitats. They will present a programme that fuses folk sounds with virtuoso instrumental music. Wild Italian women, soulful Slavs and languorous tango dancers will appear before your inner eye.
The Japanese pianist Emi Suzuki studied in Tokyo and Prague. Her busy concert schedule takes her to various countries. She teaches at the Chemnitz Municipal Music School and at the Youth Art School in Chomutov.
Cellist Matthias Gagelmann studied in Trossingen and Toronto and has been principal cellist of the Leipzig Symphony Orchestra since 1993. As a chamber musician, he has travelled in Germany and abroad and teaches at the Municipal Music School in Chemnitz.

Sound collective Opus Eins (conductor: Milko Kersten)
Under the title "Mittwoch Mittag in Jessen" (Wednesday lunchtime in Jessen), new works by 8 - 16-year-old pupils can be experienced. How does our town sound - how should it sound? Under the guidance of composers Silke Fraikin, Johannes Korndörfer, Annette Schlünz and Bernd Schumann, the young composers have been working on this question.
The discussion concert will open with an overture by the music school ensemble StreichHölzer (conductor: Andreas Winkler)

Young artists with and without disabilities and musicians from the Robert Schumann Philharmonic Orchestra
This year's special guest will be the sign language choir of the Leipzig Vocational Training Centre. Motus" and "Klangwege ins Leben" from the Chemnitz Municipal Music School, as well as "Rock AG", "Kaleidoskop", MONAEL and Friends" and "ORFFeus" will also be performing. Musicollage Wind instruments
Venue: Municipal Music School, Concert Hall
Admission: free
In this concert series, wind instruments will be heard on this day. Solo contributions on the woodwind instruments flute, clarinet, oboe, saxophone and bassoon can be heard. Small chamber music pieces such as a concertino by John Baston for recorder and piano or two dances for recorder and guitar will enrich the programme with special timbres. Young musicians from the brass section will perform festive trumpet sounds.

"Let's swing again"

The youth symphony orchestra of the Chemnitz Municipal Music School under the direction of Andreas Grohmann swings together with Götz Bergmann & his Gentleman.
Götz Bergmann & his Gentlemen - Four musician friends: Götz Bergmann, Ralf Beutler, Hans-Richard Ludewig and Tino Scholz quickly discovered that they have a shared soft spot for a particular kind of music - they love the unique swinging recordings of the Nat King Cole Trio and the special sound of the George Shearing Quintet. Their repertoire now also included German-language swing songs and their own arrangements.
This event is supported by the Lions Club Wasserschloss Klaffenbach.

Charity concert "Hand in Hand for Premature Babies"

The StreichHölzer of the Chemnitz Municipal Music School under the direction of Andreas Winkler, as well as young musicians on the piano, flute, recorder, guitar, clarinet and singers play and sing in support of families with premature babies.

The little vocalists, children's ballet, pupils from the elocution department, the basic musical training programme and instrumentalists will perform a pre-Christmas concert together. St Nicholas is sure to drop by again...

A benefit concert organised by the Chemnitz Music Association
Adult pupils from the municipal music school form a project choir and sing Christmas carols for a good cause. The audience is cordially invited to sing along!
