In the May edition of the Musikcafé, Nancy Gibson, Director of the Municipal Music School, welcomes Sebastian Schilling. He is the dramaturge of the 35th Saxon Mozart Festival, which will take place this year from 8 to 25 May under the title "From Face to Face".
Sebastian Schilling gives an exciting insight into the festival with all sorts of interesting facts. The audience can also look forward to musical impressions.
Afterwards, Mareike Holfeld, spokesperson for Chemnitz 2025 gGmbH, will introduce the "Theatre of the World", Germany's largest festival for international stage arts, which will be held in Chemnitz from 18 June to 5 July.

After the official opening of this year's Museum Night at the TIETZ, pupils from the Municipal Music School invite you to join them from 7 pm under the motto "Tacheles! One word, many sounds" to listen to festive and cheerful music of various genres in the atrium of the TIETZ.
On Museum Night, the Industrial Museum offers another sound venue for pupils from the
municipal music school. At 7, 8, 9 and 10 pm, mini-concerts will be performed in a candlelit atmosphere.

Closing concert of the 50th meeting of the clarinet choir at the Chemnitz Municipal Music School

From 15 to 17 May, everything at the Municipal Music School will be dedicated to one instrument: the clarinet. The clarinet choir of the German Clarinet Society will be a guest at the Municipal Music School for rehearsals and a concert.
All clarinettists who have been playing regularly in an ensemble for at least four years are welcome to attend.
The meeting begins on Friday, 15 May, with the first rehearsal at 5 pm and ends on Sunday, 17 May, from 12 noon with the final concert at the Chemnitz Municipal Music School.
The audience can expect a pure clarinet orchestra whose sound is reminiscent of a large church organ with its fine and powerful, colourfully nuanced sounds.
