Da Capo music café at Kraftwerk e. V. - "Finale"
Venue: Kraftwerk e. V., Kaßbergstraße 36
Admission: 7 euros (including coffee and cake)
In the final edition of Musikcafé Da Capo, Nancy Gibson, Head of the Municipal Music School, welcomes teachers and students of the music school, who look back together on the many past Musikcafés.
Among others, the Da Capo groups of the Municipal Music School under the direction of Christiane Korn and Matthias Gagelmann will play and sing.
Since April 2009, the Da Capo music café has been inviting people to a musical chat with Nancy Gibson at the Kraftwerk on the first Thursday of every month. Nancy Gibson was the initiator of the project, which she realised with the help of Ute Dziuballa, former Kraftwerk manager, and Helga Neumeister, project employee. Once again this school year, many well-known artists and personalities from Chemnitz have been guests at the Musikcafé, such as Jeffrey Goldberg, Kerstin Randall, Hartmut Schill, Dr Christoph Dittrich, Wieland Müller, Elke Beer, Dr Peter Seifert and Andreas Bochmann.

Summer concert with soloists and ensembles from the Chemnitz Municipal Music School
Venue: Carlowitz Hall, Carlowitz Congress Centre Chemnitz, Theaterstraße 3
Tickets: at www.c3-chemnitz.de
The Municipal Music School invites you to a very special summer concert this year! Outstanding soloists and ensembles - including the Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Flitzebögen, the Chemnitz Young Vocal Ensemble, the Children's Plucked String Orchestra and many more - will be performing at the Carlowitz Congress Centre.
The programme includes musical excerpts from "Helden auf dem Notenblatt" by Franz Kanefzky, whose impressive performance was already very well received at the previous "Viva la musica!" concert. A special highlight awaits the audience with the world premiere of the composition "Gehege" by Wolfgang Heisig, created especially for the youth symphony orchestra of the municipal music school. We would also like to take this opportunity to bid a fitting farewell to Nancy Gibson, our long-serving Head of School, who is going into well-deserved retirement this year, in front of a large audience and to thank her for her great commitment. Members of the Saxon Symphony Orchestra and the Robert Schumann Philharmonic Orchestra will also enrich the concert as musical guests.
