Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald - queens of jazz and pop
with Sophie Böhmchen, speech scientist, Marie-Luise Weber, singer and Henrik Lehmann, pianist

Sophie Böhmchen, Marie-Luise Weber and Henrik Lehmann take the audience into the world of Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald - queens of jazz and pop.
Sophie Böhmchen will talk about two women who made music history. One was shy and reserved, the other spirited and extroverted. Their incredible musical talent united the singers, who were almost the same age. Marie-Luise Weber will bring the songs of these exceptional singers to life with her voice and Henrik Lehmann will accompany her on the piano.

6th Chemnitz Lions New Year's Concert

Admission: 12 to 40 euros, tickets via Lions Club Rabenstein
Young artists and ensembles from the Chemnitz Municipal Music School and the Music School at Thomas-Mann-Platz perform classical works as well as modern vocal and instrumental pieces. The concert is a charity event in aid of the promotion of young musical talent under the patronage of Mr Ferenc Csák, Head of the Cultural Department of the City of Chemnitz.

Concert with Kolja Lessing
Venue: Concert hall, Chemnitz Municipal Music School, Gerichtsstr. 1
Admission: 10 to 14 euros
Under the motto "Bridges" between the Old and New World, Kolja Lessing will be playing at the opening of his Chemnitz masterclass. In the first part, he will play compositions by Tzvi Avni, Mordecai Seter and others on the violin together with Andreas Winkler. In the second part of the concert "Bridges" between Germany, Poland and Israel, he will be heard as a pianist.
