In the April edition of the Musikcafé, Nancy Gibson, Director of the Municipal Music School, welcomes Kerstin Randall and Emi Suzuki.
Kerstin Randall has already performed a wide variety of opera and operetta roles in opera houses around the world. In addition to Chemnitz and Leipzig, she has also been invited to perform in Berlin and Tokyo. At the Chemnitz Opera House, we have seen her as Mrs Meeker in "Funny Girl" and as Vicky Nichols in the musical "Ganz oder gar nicht". Kerstin Randall is characterised by extraordinary versatility and variability in her voice and acting. She has been teaching students classical singing at the Chemnitz Municipal Music School since 2009. She will talk to Nancy Gibson about her life and will provide the musical framework for the afternoon together with some of her music students.
Emi Suzuki has been teaching piano at Chemnitz Municipal Music School since 2016. Her professional career has taken her from Japan via the Czech Republic to Germany. She is a sought-after solo concert pianist and an excellent accompanist. She will enrich this afternoon's musical programme with her piano playing.

On Saturday, 18 April, at 10.30 a.m., a special morning concert of the wind section will take place in the concert hall of the Municipal Music School. Under the motto "All beginnings are easy", the youngest pupils will perform on all kinds of wind instruments, such as recorder, oboe, flute, clarinet, bassoon, trumpet, horn and trombone. The concert impressively demonstrates how much joy, courage and enthusiasm can be found in the very first musical steps.
The audience can look forward to a varied programme that focuses on one thing above all: the joy of making music together. The concert is aimed at families, friends and anyone interested in seeing the youngest children take their first steps on stage. They are all looking forward to lots of applause!
