Historical Christmas market at the Schloßbergmuseum
Admission: Adults 4 euros Children, children and young people up to the age of 18 free of charge
During the Advent season, the Schloßbergmuseum offers a special Christmas market along the market stalls between the museum and the Lapidarium. The motto is "History(s) from the monastery, castle and town. Experience - touch - try". It's all about the market and the princely camp, the splendour of clothing and dress codes, medieval professions and armour and weapons. Ointments, oils and herbal teas are presented at the pharmacy stand.
Christmas cards are designed and written in the monastery scriptorium.
A refreshment stop can be made at the mulled wine stand, along with grilled sausages and home-baked bread. The historical kitchen will also be presented. The historical craftsmanship shows the production of ropes, blue printing and weaving.
There is the opportunity to purchase small souvenirs everywhere. The evening ends with a historical zither concert "Salvum me faq".
Of course, you can also visit the house with its permanent exhibitions on Gothic sculpture and the Chemnitz History Picture Gallery. The two special exhibitions "Metamorphosis" and "Sound of the Metropolis" are particularly recommended. The entrance fee for these is 6 euros, reduced 4 euros, including the Christmas market.
