They have been married for thirty years and have just moved house. Outside Paris, the urbanite and her depressive husband have finally acquired a state-of-the-art home of their own. The new neighbours are also overjoyed. And they all realise too late that their spotlessly clean eco-friendly estate is a dead end ...
Julia Deck has composed a plot of false trails and dubious clues with relish and cruelty to lead the reader both on the trail and astray. A bitterly ironic neighbourhood novel about modern myths.
Julia Deck was born in Paris in 1974. She studied literature at the Sorbonne, worked for numerous newspapers and magazines and teaches at the School of Journalism. Her latest novel "Privateigentum" was published by Klaus Wagenbach in August 2020.
