"Fit on the tablet" - beginners' workshop for senior citizens

Location: TIETZ, Central Library, LearningRoom 1
Admission: free

In this workshop, you can learn how to use tablets under supervision. You do not need any previous knowledge or your own device to take part in the multi-part event (part 2 on 16 May and part 3 on 23 May).

The subject of these texts is not only the conditions and causes of imprisonment in the Soviet Occupied Zone (SBZ) and the later GDR. In the sections "The Guest" and "Classics", authors persecuted in the German Empire and during National Socialism also have their say, as does a contemporary poet from Turkey.

What topics are Czech writers concerned with? How do they deal with the history and current trends in their country? We have invited three Czech authors. They will read from their latest works and there will be an opportunity to talk to them.

An event organised by the EU Office in the Mayor's Office of the City of Chemnitz in cooperation with the Chemnitz City Library.

Event no. 3: Felix Bennekenstein
Felix Bennekenstein was an active neo-Nazi in Bavaria for many years. He was known there as a right-wing singer-songwriter and as a speaker at demonstrations. In 2011, he left the scene together with his wife Heidi and founded Aussteigerhilfe Bayern. The two of them also perform at schools and public institutions and talk about their experiences from their active time as neo-Nazis.

On quiet soles... Stories to listen to
read aloud for anyone with keen ears
Our reading mentors take both young and older listeners into colourful fantasy worlds with great pleasure. They read the latest children's books, classics, "bestsellers" from their own childhood or even texts they have written themselves in the atmospheric reading tent in the children's world. Admission to the reading sessions is free.
