Interactive exhibition: Museum experience
Admission: Visiting the interactive exhibition: Erlebnisraum Museum is free of charge. (A valid admission ticket is required for the tour of the permanent exhibition).
A forest that goes back 291 million years into the history of the earth and a permanent exhibition that has been standing for 20 years - time to change something in our museum! The stories about the life and death of our fossilised tree giants will be retold and much more from the collections will be brought to light. Over the past few years, children and young people have been thinking about what the museum should offer in the future. Using games, animated films and audio contributions they developed themselves, they brought primordial dinosaurs, scorpions and giant dragonflies to life for the experience level of the new permanent exhibition. The resulting interactive stations were tested by young and old. These change requests were implemented. Now it's time to discover, play and dream again.

Special exhibition: Highlights of nature photography 2022
Admission: adults 4 euros, concessions 2.50 euros, children and young people up to 18 years free of charge
The Highlights of Nature Photography has been running for 24 years. This year's international photo competition was again very popular - a jury selected the winning images from 15,750 pictures by 836 photographers from 41 countries.
At the Museum für Naturkunde Chemnitz, however, the exhibition will be enhanced in a special way: selected photographs will be arranged with zoological specimens from the museum's own collection, so that a spatial aspect is added as an exciting element when viewing the images.
