Since summer 2024, the voices of all birds in the Botanical Garden have been recorded by a project of Chemnitz University of Technology. With the help of the BirdNET app, birds can be recognised by their voices. The project provides us with information about the frequency and occurrence of bird species.

The Chemnitzer Wandersportverein e.V. and the Verein Förderer der Stadtbibliothek Chemnitz e. V. (Chemnitz City Library Supporters' Association) will experience and explore a wonderful Chemnitz city and natural landscape together with all participants on an easy hiking tour over approx. 12 km (only approx. 70 m ascent and descent) from the Botanical Garden (start by bus) to the Rabenstein rock domes - Niederrabenstein - viaduct - Rabenstein Castle bus stop.

How do bees live? What does a beehive look like? What is the bees' favourite food? On this guided tour of the Botanic Garden, children and adults will gain a small insight into the life of a bee colony and, of course, there will also be honey to sample.
