Events in the Botanic Garden in July / August

Sunday, 6 July, 10 am to 5 pm
Beekeeping day - offer during the summer holidays
Location: Chemnitz Botanical Garden, Leipziger Straße 147
Participation: free of charge, a donation is requested

Who's that buzzing? Honey bees take centre stage on Beekeeping Day. Practical demonstrations provide exciting insights into life in the beehive and the work of beekeeping. There will also be lots of interesting information about bees, honey and nature conservation. Products from the beekeeping association will be on sale. A day full of knowledge, nature and enjoyment.

Animal feeding and guided tour of the animal husbandry in the Botanical Garden
Guided tour with David Kiraly - offer during the summer holidays
Location: Chemnitz Botanical Garden, Leipziger Straße 147, meeting point in front of the main building
Participation: free of charge, a donation is requested

There is a lot to discover in the Botanical Garden during the animal feeding and guided tour of the animal husbandry. You will be shown which animals live here, how they are kept and which special characteristics characterise them. An informative tour with lively insights into the animal diversity of the garden.

A colourful programme with pony rides, animal tours, an exciting hobby horsing competition as well as games, fun and varied entertainment ensures eventful summer days in the botanical garden.
A varied programme for holiday guests of all ages.

Seminar: Edible flowers - the power of floral splendour

This course is all about edible flowers - from exciting information about their diversity to practical tips on processing them in the kitchen.

Seminar: One-day seminar on hydrolates - producing plant waters
Location: Chemnitz Botanical Garden, Leipziger Straße 147
Participation: 90 euros, registration required by 15 August (via www.stonewood-kraeuter.de/seminare)

We will produce a plant water using simple ingredients that can be found in every kitchen and turn it into a natural cosmetic product.
