Events in the Botanic Garden in February

Sunday, 16 February, 9 am
Ulf Engler: Excursion to Leipzig's lakes
Location: Meeting point is the car park at the Botanical Garden, Leipziger Straße 147

Participation: There are travel costs for the NABU bus.

Together with Ulf Engler, we will explore the Leipzig lake district, focussing on ornithology.

Cornelia Römer: Monastery medicine: elixirs and medieval preparations
Workshop offer during the winter holidays

"Man has three paths in which his life is organised: the soul, the body and the senses." We take a journey through the history of monastic medicine and try out old recipes from times gone by in the Botanical Garden.

Katrin Großer: Reptiles and amphibians in the Botanical Garden's vivarium
Guided tour during the winter holidays
Location: Botanical Garden, Leipziger Straße 147, meeting point in front of the main building
Participation: free of charge, a donation is requested

In the Botanical Garden's vivarium, you can admire a variety of amphibians, fish, reptiles, arthropods and insects. The guided tour offers insights into the world of these animals and provides knowledge about their keeping and special features.

Tuesday, 25 February, 10 am to 4 pm
2nd clamp building block exhibition - animals and plants reconstructed
Location: Botanical Garden, Leipziger Straße 147
Participation: 3 euros per person (to be paid in cash on site), groups of more than 5 people please register at rv.erzgebirge(at)nabu-sachsen.de.

In our small exhibition in the Botanical Garden, we will once again be presenting various models of animals and plants. Visitors can look forward to more than 100 additional models.

Felting animals - with Sabine Roscher
Location: Botanical Garden, Leipziger Straße 147
Participation: Costs are based on consumption,
Target group: suitable for children aged 6 and over.
Groups of more than 5 people should register at rv.erzgebirge(at)nabu-sachsen.de.

In our NABU Nature Conservation Centre in the Botanical Garden, children can felt to their heart's content together with Sabine Roscher. You can also realise your own ideas. Some animals are ready to be felted. Depending on the size and difficulty, you can create your own fantastic animals in around 30 minutes.

We make tit bells and tit rings for winter feeding together at the NABU Nature Conservation Centre in the Botanical Garden.
