Events for the cultural theme year in June
The city of Chemnitz invites you
Since autumn 2014 and until the end of this year, Chemnitz institutions and cultural institutions have been offering a programme of events as part of the cultural theme year MODERNITY IN CHEMNITZ - ART AND ARCHITECTURE, which focuses on the various aspects of modernity as an era and modernity in art and architecture.
The following events will take place in June:
TANZ│MODERNE│TANZ
International festival for contemporary dance from 17 to 21 June 2015
The festival organised by Chemnitz Municipal Theatre presents contemporary choreographic works from France, Finland, China, Poland, Mali and Slovenia, among others. Renowned companies will present their innovative and award-winning works in the theatre and on other stages. For those interested in dance, there will be workshops with international choreographers (registration: festival(at)theater-chemnitz.de).
DIE MODERNE GEHT BADEN - fountains and water features dance up!
On 21 June, the Chemnitz Ballet will take part in the international dance festival. Starting at Theaterplatz, the dancers will go on tour with the guests to perform at various fountains and water features in the city centre, including
z. These include the wedding fountain on the Street of Nations, the water features at the town hall, the Saxonia fountain on Johannisplatz and the water features at the castle pond.
"Architecture endures" - Architecture Day 2015 on 27 and 28 June 2015
The Day of Architecture is being held in Saxony for the 20th time this year.
In the Chemnitz district, the Saxony Chamber of Architects is inviting visitors to 18 buildings, an open office and eight events. Under the motto "Architecture has endurance", guided tours of building sites will take place in a listed residential building from 1756 in Chemnitz, the Saxon State Social Court will be open to the public and the smac - State of Saxony will be open to the public.In addition to insider tours on architecture and state-of-the-art museum technology, the smac - State Museum of Archaeology Chemnitz will be hosting the exhibition "Architecture - Made in Chemnitz" by six Chemnitz architecture firms.
