Museum detectives - In search of prehistoric clues
Equipped with the tools of a detective, you will embark on a journey of discovery in the Museum of Natural History. Solve puzzles about prehistoric plants, animals and fossils! Find out what the world looked like 291 million years ago in Chemnitz! As a creative activity, you can design a picture from colourful scratch paper.
Admission: free for children and young people under 18, material costs 1 euro
Number of participants limited to 20.

Minerals are fascinating because of the perfect shapes of their crystals and their intense colours. In this naturally colourful lecture, the following questions about colour phenomena will be addressed in a richly illustrated way: What is light? How do we perceive colours, how do we experience them? What is the effect of colour in minerals? Why do some minerals change colour when heated or irradiated? Why do some minerals have a metallic lustre?
