via regia - road of the species
Rhinoceroses, pastor's weed and the Black Death travelled along the ancient via regia trade route. For centuries, it was the most important link between Eastern and Western Europe. The new species, including many stowaways, influenced both the natural landscape and people's lives. Follow the "Road of Species" from the Middle Ages to the present day.
