Interactive exhibition: Museum experience
Location: TIETZ, Museum of Natural History Chemnitz, 1st floor
Admission: Visits to the interactive exhibition are free of charge, an admission ticket is required for the permanent and special exhibitions.
A forest that stretches back 291 million years into the Earth's history and a permanent exhibition that has been standing for 20 years - time to change something in our museum! We want to retell the stories about the life and death of our fossilised tree giants and bring much more from the collections to light. Over the past few years, children and young people have been thinking about what our museum should offer in the future. Using games, animated films and audio contributions they developed themselves, they brought prehistoric dinosaurs, scorpions and giant dragonflies to life for the experience level of the new permanent exhibition. The resulting interactive stations were tested by young and old alike. We have taken these change requests on board and now it's time to discover, play and dream again.

Spring festival with seed and plant exchange at the Museum of Natural History

Nature's hibernation is over and not only buds are blossoming into new life - people are out on the streets and in the gardens. The Museum of Natural History invites all spring enthusiasts to a spring festival with a seed and plant exchange.
Young and old can let off steam creatively with spring and Easter crafts: Sorbian Easter eggs, Easter nests and seed cards are on the programme.
Little detectives will get their money's worth on the "Who hides what?" treasure hunt through the permanent exhibition. The brave can get up close and personal with insects.
The ASR of the City of Chemnitz also invites visitors to experiment. At its compost station, waste utilisation takes centre stage. Agrargenossenschaft Lößnitz-Stollberg eG offers honey and interesting facts about bees. The city library with its mobile book lending centre inspires visitors to create their own gardening projects.
Home gardeners, small gardeners and flower pot gardeners are invited to bring seeds and plants to exchange and thus preserve the natural green diversity.

At 3 p.m., Yves Krone will address the special challenges facing bees and beekeepers as a result of the changing climate in his lecture "The challenge of climate change - consequences for honey bees and beekeeping".
We are looking forward to a creative afternoon and an inspiring exchange about horticultural successes!
