Events at the municipal music school in September 2019

Thursday, 5 September, 3 pm
DA CAPO - Musikcafé im Kraftwerk with Toni Müller, percussionist and teacher at the Chemnitz Municipal Music School, and music students Location: Kraftwerk e.V.,

Admission: 6 euros (including coffee and cake)

Toni Müller began playing the piano at the age of nine, but soon discovered his passion for the drums. He studied at the Dresden Academy of Music with Günter "Baby" Sommer, Sven Helbig and Siegfried Ludwig, among others. Since 2005, he has been travelling throughout Europe as a dedicated professional musician with various projects. He played as a drummer with the Nico Neidel Trio with Jonathan Leistner, Doublstroke, the Blues Brother Tribute Tour 2014 and the TINA - the Rock Legend Tour 2015 - 2017. In his time off from touring, he shares his love of music and rhythm with his students by teaching drums at the Chemnitz Municipal Music School, the Chemnitz School Model and the music school in Zschopau.

Antonia on a journey I Concert with a beetle - for families with babies and toddlers

Antonia, the mascot of the early music education department, flies to Africa, where she meets various animals such as monkeys, elephants and lions. What adventures will she have? Children's ballet, vocalists, pupils and teachers from our music school join the audience on a musical journey through the savannah, the desert and the jungle

Musicollage - Mix

Venue: Concert hall, Chemnitz Municipal Music School, Gerichtsstr. 1
Admission: free

In this concert series, pupils from all departments of the music school can be heard both as soloists and in small groups. The result is a colourful, musical mix with strings and wind instruments, piano, accordion, guitars and vocals. The repertoire ranges from ancient times, such as baroque music - around 300 years ago - to pieces from the 21st century.

Venue: TIETZ, stage in the foyer, Moritzstraße 20
Admission: free

The vocal department presents itself in this concert. The young and older singers can be heard both as soloists and as part of an ensemble or large choir. Classical arias and songs as well as musicals will be performed.
