"Where we were children" - Kati Naumann reads from her new novel

Venue: Vita Centre District Library, Wladimir-Sagorski-Straße 22

Admission: 5 euros, reduced 3 euros, reduced number of seats

Eva, Iris and Jan are heirs to the once splendid Langbein toy factory in Sonneberg. Founded in the imperial era, it was at its peak during the Weimar Republic, survived two wars, German division and nationalisation, only to go under miserably after reunification. Now there is nothing left of the honourable Langbein tradition. Quarrels and bitterness have spread to those left behind. But when one of the rare Langbein dolls - carefully sewn and personally painted by her grandfather - turns up at an internet auction, the faded past comes back into view and raises countless questions: about guilt and loss, but also about hope and a new beginning.

November fog - crime novel reading with Wolfgang Schüler, U.L. Brich & Katja Martens

Venue: TIETZ, Central Library, Event Hall

Admission: 3 euros, reduced number of seats

Short crime stories - sometimes cheerful, sometimes bloodthirsty, but always exciting. Under the motto NOVEMBERNEBEL, the three authors read from their criminal texts and make their listeners' blood run cold.

Wolfgang Schüler works as a lawyer and author in Berlin. He publishes highly successful court reports and crime novels with expertise and humour.

U.L. Brich comes from the Ore Mountains. A journalist by profession, he writes exciting adventure novels and short crime thrillers in his spare time. He has a soft spot for cryptozoology and enjoys writing about ancient mysteries and animals that shouldn't really exist. Katja Martens writes magazine novels with love, doctor and western stories. In her spare time, she loves to spend time in the forest, where she collects new ideas. Her short stories tell of the Ore Mountains and mining.

Together, the three authors form a truly murderous cloverleaf.

Julius Fischer, I hate people. A kind of love story

Venue: TIETZ, Central Library, Event Hall

Admission: 12 euros, reduced 8 euros, reduced number of seats

Julius Fischer still hates people. It starts with his own wife. Family doesn't work either. Only friends are even worse. And acquaintances, of course. They're the worst. But nothing compared to everyone else. In his programme, he talks about all these arseholes and his desperate attempts to have nothing to do with them. It doesn't work. Except with his wife. But there are other reasons for that.

The programme for the new book. The book about the attitude to life.

Julius Fischer is an author, singer-songwriter and cabaret artist. He is a member of various reading stages, including Lesedüne with Marc-Uwe Kling. Together with Christian Meyer, he presents the TV show "Comedy mit Karsten" on MDR and plays in the band The Fuck Hornisschen Orchestra. Since spring 2018, he can be seen alongside Olaf Schubert in the ARD show "Olaf macht Mut".
