Holiday programme: Join in & observe - animal activities for the djeladas
Location: Chemnitz Zoo, Nevoigtstraße 18
Admission: regular (adults 9.50 euros, concessions 5 euros)
How can you keep monkeys occupied in a meaningful way? What behaviours do they exhibit? And why is occupation so important for animals in the zoo? In this special holiday offer, we will work together to design creative activities for the djeladas.
After a brief introduction to the behaviour and lifestyle of this fascinating species of monkey, you will learn why enrichment - i.e. targeted activity - plays a central role in animal care. Afterwards, small tasks and craft ideas are developed together that correspond to the natural abilities and needs of the djeladas. Finally, the participants observe together how the animals react to the designed activities - an exciting insight into their intelligence, curiosity and social behaviour.
