Ahne, Dialogues with God
The fourth book now. What has happened so far: God is alive. He has moved to Choriner Straße 61. Older people will remember him from 63. Week after week, a guy comes round and talks about his problems, at least most of the time. Sometimes he doesn't. Sometimes he doesn't have any problems at all, he thinks. Then he thinks God has some. Or he wants to know something. For example, when the airport opens, why the Femen girls always look so good, whether God is circumcised, what WSDV means or who counts all the dead at the end. God then answers. Or he is surprised. Or is angry. Or takes it easy. Sometimes he pretends to be ignorant. Or is he even?

9th Chemnitz Reading Advent: Jörg Schüttauf "The Journey to Petushki"
Jörg Schüttauf, born in Karl-Marx-Stadt, was already on the stage of the city's Pioneer Theatre as a young boy as Rumpelstiltskin. Today he is one of the best-known actors and reads "The Journey to Petushki" in the city library.
"The Journey to Petushki" is a poem by Venedikt Yerofeyev. The ludicrous story of a boozy train journey is already one of the modern classics of Russian literature. With his suitcase full of booze clutched tightly to his heart, the Muscovite Venedikt boards the suburban train to Petuski. There he wants to visit his red-haired lover and their son. However, the journey goes off the rails and turns into one big bender. From station to station and from bottle to bottle, Wenedikt's monologues and his exchange of ideas with his travelling companions become more absurd.
This event is a co-operation between the Evangelical Forum and Chemnitz City Library. Tickets can be reserved by telephone on 0371 488-4222.
