European Week of Sport
For the European Week of Sport, from 23 to 30 September, all Chemnitz residents are once again called upon to get active together. Numerous sporting stakeholders are offering programmes, taster sessions and hands-on activities. The Floor Fighters Chemnitz e. V. will be taking part with a floorball taster session on Thursday 24 September and a public training session at the Red Tower on Wednesday 30 September.
The multi-generation centre will once again be taking part with various activities such as relaxation exercises and fitness for beginners. The "Bewegte Sonnenberg" on Boulevard Sonnenstraße and the street games at Don Bosco Haus on Friday, 25 September, offer an active opportunity for the whole family. On this day, the AJZ e.V. sports bus tour will pass through the Heckert area and Gablenz before ending with a barbecue at Konkordiapark.
On Saturday 26 September, it is also worth taking a look beyond the garden fence. To this end, the adult education centre is offering a bicycle tour with a view of the "urban gardens" in Chemnitz, from 10 am to 3 pm. The start is at Zietenpark. In the evening, the Deutsches Spielemuseum e. V. invites you to the sports games night #beactivenight.
Other highlights of the sports week include the active hike through the Zeisigwald forest and the "Chemnitz Experience" bike tour on Sunday, 27 September.
