Chemnitz clubs invite you to taster sessions
From 23 to 30 September, directly following the European Mobility Week, Chemnitz will showcase its sporty side during the European Week of Sport. Exercise is essential for staying physically and mentally fit. The clubs in the city have therefore put together an exciting and varied programme.
To kick off the European Week of Sport early, everyone is invited to take part in the "Moving Mile" on and around Lessingplatz from 1pm to 7pm today and get active. In addition to many opportunities to join in, there will be a panel discussion and a closing concert. Further information can be found at: www.chemnitz.de/ewds
On the very first day, 23 September, the Floor Fighters and the Chemnitz Police Sports Club, for example, will be inviting people to take part in taster sessions to gain an insight into the sport of floorball, try their hand at classic football or do a few laps of the cycling track at the Sportforum.
This is followed by a colourful mix of activities. From athletics to frisbee and fencing, everything is on offer. There will be several dates for some sports so that as many people as possible have the chance to try something new. Even those who just want to have a quiet game of boules or boccia will not miss out. For keen dancers, the "Sinjini" dance group will be offering Bollywood dance workshops. On Sunday, 26 September, there will be a family hike with the traditional children's rights search and sports game in Küchwald. Afterwards, the Floor Fighters Chemnitz invite you to their home game in the 1st Floorball Bundesliga.
Bundesliga player Max Schröder: "I am delighted that I and my team, the Floor Fighters Chemnitz, are ambassadors for this European initiative in Chemnitz. The European Week of Sport is an event for young and old that is fun and continues to grow in popularity from year to year. I cordially invite everyone to join us on 26 September at 4 pm in the Schloßteichhalle when we play our next home game against SSF Dragons Bonn. Admission is free as part of the European Week of Sport. On 29 September, we will be at the Red Tower from 4 pm for the open training session of our junior team. Just come along and experience the fascination of floorball live."
In addition to a circus for families, there will also be an opportunity to get a taste of various sports in the week commencing 27 September. This time, in addition to athletics, there will also be gymnastics, historical European martial arts and aikido.
On Thursday, 30 September, the district management of Sonneberg - Nachhall e. V. invites school classes to "Moving Sonnenberg" from 9 am.
