European volunteers find out about European work in Chemnitz
Invitation to the photo session: 10 October, 10 a.m., Grüner Salon, Chemnitz City Hall
On Monday, 10 October at 10 a.m., eight young participants in the European Solidarity Corps will be welcomed by the EU Coordinator of the City of Chemnitz, Pia Sachs, at City Hall. The volunteers want to find out about the history of Chemnitz and European work. They will be given a presentation and a tour of the town hall.
Representatives of the media are cordially invited. There will also be an opportunity to interview the young people.
The young European volunteers come from Portugal, France, Belarus, Hungary, Spain and Turkey and are working in Chemnitz for different periods of time (from February 2022 to August 2023). They are supervised by F+U Sachsen gGmbh and Solaris FZU gGmbh and are deployed in various facilities and activities, e.g. in the Schönau after-school care centre and in the Vocational Rehabilitation, International Projects and Migration departments of F+U Sachsen gGmbh. The volunteers sponsored by Solaris FZU gGmbH work in the multi-generational house and the adventure education centre in Chemnitz.
Young people from Chemnitz can also apply to both organisations for a placement abroad.
