This year's European Mobility Week in Chemnitz will be framed by the "Radlust" exhibition organised by the city's civil engineering department, which will be on show from Monday, 15 September until Friday, 26 September in the atrium of the Rathaus Passagen and aims to whet people's appetite for cycling. The Mobility Week officially kicks off on Tuesday, 16 September with a public lecture and panel discussion. The speaker will be Pascal Rieht, Head of the Mobility Centre in Chemnitz's twin city Mulhouse. Together with representatives from the City of Chemnitz's Civil Engineering Office and Environmental Centre, the guest from France will address the topic of "New trams as an engine for urban design and city centre development".
On Thursday, 18 September, the city's environmental department, together with the company C&E Consulting und Engineering GmbH and the utility eins energie in sachsen GmbH & Co. KG, will host a workshop on "Electromobility in the city of Chemnitz - future or reality?".
The Mobility Day on Friday, 19 September on the Neumarkt in front of the town hall offers an interactive bus tour by the sports youth of the city sports association, the Infomobile for the Chemnitz model, the CVAG bus school, a wheelchair course, special bikes for people with disabilities to try out, a bike auction by the lost property office in the Chemnitz Citizens' Office (PM 501 from 08.09.2014) and free rides on the historic tram of the Chemnitz Tram Museum.
