European exchange of experience on the topic of games as a modern element of learning

Invitation for media representatives - City welcomes adult education experts from Poland and Romania to City Hall

Adult education experts from Zielona Góra (Poland), Timişoara (Romania) and Chemnitz are coming together this weekend for a European exchange of experiences. The professional exchange will focus on the use of electronic learning games in continuing vocational training. In addition to presentations and the opportunity to meet adult education experts from other European countries, participants in the exchange of experiences can also look forward to a varied cultural programme.

"This is the eighth time we have organised a European exchange of experience. For the organisation, we always team up with a strong local partner who has expert knowledge in the respective subject area. For the topic of games as a modern element of learning, we are working together with the Deutsches SPIELEmuseum e. V.," explains Pia Sachs, the city's EU Coordinator. "We are looking forward to in-depth discussions at this year's exchange of experiences and hope that this year will once again provide impetus for future cooperation and that new European partnerships will emerge," continued Sachs.

The EU coordinator will welcome 15 participants to the European exchange of experience on Saturday, 9 May at 10 am. 13 of them come from Timişoara (Romania) and three from Zielona Góra County (Poland). In the town hall, visitors can look forward to a presentation about the city and the city's European work. The focus will be on European projects in the field of adult education. There will also be a guided tour of the town hall.

Media representatives are cordially invited to the reception (New Town Hall, Green Salon, 2nd floor). The participants in the European exchange of experience will be available for a discussion.

The visit to the town hall will be followed at 2.00 pm by a tour of the solaris youth workshops and the German PLAY Museum and an exchange of experiences with presentations. The exchange of experiences will begin on Friday afternoon at the German PLAY Museum. The official welcoming of the experts will be followed by participation in the opening event of the 2015 Saxon Mozart Festival "Antasten - Anspiel" and a visit to the Museum Night.

The final event will be a visit to the Festival of Neighbours on 10 May, 3 to 6 pm, at the Deutsches SPIELEmuseum. The festival offers a varied stage programme with dance and music, games for the whole family, exhibitions such as "What really connects Europe: THE GAMES!", "La piazza dell'amacizia - The Square of Friendship" and "ASYLUM" and a selection of international food.

Both the European exchange of experiences and the festival of neighbours are organised by the city of Chemnitz together with the association Deutsches SPIELEmuseum e. V.
