European Capital of Culture 2025 - Opportunities for Chemnitz

Chemnitz is currently preparing its bid for the title of "European Capital of Culture 2025". In addition to preparing the content of the application, experts from all over Europe visit Chemnitz at regular intervals to make recommendations in discussions and (internal) workshops.
One such expert is the Austrian Dr Elisabeth Leitner. She comes from Amstetten and studied architecture and event management in Vienna and completed her doctorate on the subject of "European Capital of Culture and Urban Development". She researches and teaches at the Vienna University of Technology and the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences, where she has been head of the architecture programme since autumn 2016. Elisabeth Leitner initiated the discussion platform kulturhauptstadt2024.at in autumn 2014.
Media representatives are cordially invited to a press conference with Dr Elisabeth Leitner on Wednesday, 5 July at 2 pm to discuss the chances of Chemnitz's Capital of Culture bid. Further dialogue partners will be Cultural Operations Manager Ferenc Csák and Christoph Thoma from the Culturelab company.
