European asylum policy and its effects

On Sunday, 17 September at 11 a.m., the Migration Advisory Council of the City of Chemnitz and the association AGIUA e. The documentary film "PICKNICK IN MORIA - BLUE RED DEPORT" was made by Afghan filmmaker Talibshah Hosini, who is stranded with his family in the Moria refugee camp on Lesbos. He wanders through the completely overcrowded camp and lets residents tell their dramatic life stories.
What does a further tightening of asylum law mean for people on the run? What does it mean for the communities and for the people who already live with and among us?
Following the film screening, journalist Sarah Hofmann will discuss these questions with Attila Bihari, Maytham Jabar Abdulhassan, both members of the Chemnitz Migration Advisory Board, Oliver Nießlein from Human Aid Collective e. V. and Clara Bünger, Member of the Bundestag and spokesperson for refugee and legal policy for the DIE LINKE parliamentary group.
Oliver Nießlein, Chairman of the Human Aid Collective e. V. - an organisation founded in 2017 that organises aid transports for Syria, Yemen, Ukraine and other countries: "I want to shout as loud as I can to wake people up here in our city: Out of this moaning and ranting about government policy. I would love to take people to these places of misery to let them experience for themselves the indescribable happiness that humanity means."
