EUROCITIES writing competition "Urban Visions"
Entries can be submitted until 1 March
The majority of the world's population already lives in cities. The world's urban centres will continue to grow in the future. But what will the city of the future look like? Will cities fulfil people's expectations? How will challenges such as climate change, unemployment and poverty be tackled? To mark its 30th anniversary, the European city network is calling on young experts to address these questions and more.
Researchers, journalists, architects, urban planners, opinion leaders and authors between the ages of 25 and 35 are invited to submit written contributions in which they develop visions for the city of the future by 1 March 2016. These can be up to 2,500 words and should be written in English.
The winning entries selected by an expert jury will be published by EUROCITIES in an anthology in 2016. EUROCITIES will also invite some of the authors whose entries have been nominated to the city network's annual conference. This will take place from 16 to 18 November 2016 in Milan.
