EU school programme for fruit, vegetables and milk
Application possible from 22 April
From 22 April, daycare centres, childminders and primary and special schools in Chemnitz can once again apply to the 2020/2021 EU school programme for a free extra portion of fruit, vegetables and milk. Institutions that are already participating in the programme in the current school year and would like to take part again next year should also submit an application. The programme is not automatically extended, but must be applied for each school year.
The aim of the programme is to make healthy eating tasty for children.
The city of Chemnitz has been participating in the EU school programme since 1 August 2017. This is because a healthy and balanced diet is essential for the development and learning success of children.
Applications can only be submitted online. The corresponding online application form will be available HERE from 22 April, 7 am.
Institutions participating in the EU school programme are obliged to carry out at least one accompanying educational measure per school year (primary and special schools: all classes; crèches/kindergartens: per institution). The implementation of the programme must be documented in the facility by means of notes, class register entries, invoices or similar.
The implementation must be confirmed to the State Office for the Environment, Agriculture and Geology on the form provided.
Wulf Karl, health counsellor at the City of Chemnitz Health Department, will be happy to answer any questions or provide free, accompanying educational services (in line with the funding conditions) at wulf.karl(at)stadt-chemnitz.de.
