EU school programme for fruit, vegetables and milk
Chemnitz participants for the 2022/2023 school year published
Saxon nurseries, kindergartens (including childminders) and primary and special schools can apply to participate in the EU school programme for fruit, vegetables and milk every year.
In Chemnitz, 33 facilities (nine daycare centres and 24 primary and special schools) have currently been approved by the Saxon State Office for the Environment, Agriculture and Geology for the new 2022/2023 school year. The approved facilities can be regularly supplied with products (milk and/or fruit, vegetables) free of charge by an approved supplier.
All facilities that have applied and could not be considered will remain on a waiting list. Should funds become available at a later date, further facilities may be approved according to the order of random selection.
This programme offers the opportunity to offer children in Chemnitz daycare centres as well as primary and special schools an extra portion of fruit, vegetables and milk free of charge, thereby increasing the consumption and acceptance of fruit, vegetables and milk among children.
The city of Chemnitz has been participating in the EU school programme for fruit, vegetables and milk since 1 August 2017.
