EU project INTERLACE: Renaturalisation of brownfield sites
Online press conference with Building Mayor Stötzer on 18 March, 2 pm
On Thursday, 18 March at 2 pm, Mayor Michael Stötzer invites you to an online press conference. He will present the new EU project INTERLACE (International Co-operation to Connect and Restore Urban Ecosystems in Latin America and Europe) with the participation of the City of Chemnitz.
In Chemnitz, the focus is on the renaturalisation of brownfield sites and environmental education. The aim is to restore urban ecosystems and support environmental education to make the city more liveable, resilient and inclusive.

Following the press conference, there will be an initial interactive workshop with interested parties who are actively involved in shaping the process.

Background
The EU INTERLACE project aims to support European and CELAC (Community of Latin American and Caribbean States) cities in effectively (re)creating urban ecosystems in order to create more liveable, resilient and inclusive cities. The urban ecosystems are to be restored and rehabilitated with the help of nature-based solutions (NbS).
The INTERLACE project is funded by the EU and involves a total of 21 partners from various sectors and continents. Six cities are represented. From the CELAC region, these are Portoviejo (Ecuador), Envigado (Colombia) and the metropolitan region of San Jose (Costa Rica). The three European cities are the metropolitan region of Krakow (Poland), Granollers (Spain) and Chemnitz.
