EU Coordinator welcomes library delegation from Brasov (Romania) to the town hall
Invitation to the press event: 24 September, 10 a.m. in the town hall
A delegation from Brasov Library (Romania) will be visiting Chemnitz from 21 to 26 September 2015. The EU Coordinator of the City of Chemnitz, Pia Sachs, will welcome the Romanian guests on Thursday, 24 September 2015 at 10 a.m. in the City Hall. In a discussion, they will receive information on the history and current situation in the city as well as the European work in Chemnitz. The discussion will be followed by a tour of the town hall.
The seven-strong Romanian delegation is made up of the director and deputy director of the Brasov County Library and librarians from the "Media Library", "Children's" and "Art" departments. The library has accepted an invitation from its project partner, the solaris support centre for youth and the environment, to visit. In addition to the visit to the town hall, the programme for the group also includes a professional exchange in the municipal library.
The visit to Chemnitz is intended to help consolidate the fledgling partnership between the two organisations and give the participants the opportunity to develop ideas for future projects together. Another project has already been planned: The two institutions would like to jointly organise an exhibition at the Romanian National Library in Bucharest. In future, they would also like to implement projects via the EU's Erasmus+ funding programme. The partnership between the two institutions has existed since this summer, when the library in Brasov hosted a travelling exhibition of the German PLAY Museum in its own building.
