Entry in the city's Golden Book: Maximillian Levy will be honoured on Monday (20 August)

The two-time Olympic medallist signs the Golden Book at the CFC stadium during the half-time break of the cup match

Maximillian Levy unfortunately had to miss the official reception organised by the city of Chemnitz for the Chemnitz Olympians at Neumarkt yesterday: The track cyclist from the Chemnitz Team Natural Gas 2012, who was honoured with bronze and silver in London, had already returned to compete at the 126th German Track Cycling Championships in Frankfurt/Oder.
However, Levy will now be honoured on Monday, 20 August: In the presence of Mayor Berthold Brehm, the cyclist will sign the Golden Book of the City of Chemnitz during the half-time break of the DFB Cup match between Chemnitzer FC and SG Dynamo Dresden (kick-off: 18:30) in front of a large sporting backdrop in the CFC stadium.
Levy's famous cycling colleagues Michael Hübner, the team's sporting director, and Jens Fiedler, team manager, will most likely be present at the stadium.

As the LAC has just announced, the local ERDGAS team was extremely successful at the 126th German Track Cycling Championships in 2012: Olympic medallist Levy shone with a new track record and for the team there was the gold medal in the team sprint - congratulations to team captain Maximilian Levy, who has just been decorated with Olympic silver and bronze! who covered the 200-metre distance in 9.778 sec. There was also a victory for the Chemnitz team of Max Niederlag, Stefan Bötticher and Maximilian Levy in the men's team sprint competition. The team had already taken first place in qualifying, and in the final the men from Chemnitz came out on top in a commanding 49.646 seconds, taking gold and defending their title from 2011. Immediately after winning the title, Maximilian Levy extended his contract with the Chemnitz team ERDGAS.2012 until 2014.
