Entries in the Golden Book of Sport
Honouring athletes for their successes in 2022 - on 25 September, 2 p.m., Küchwaldwiese (in front of the Küchwaldbühne)
On Sunday, 25 September at 2 p.m., four athletes will be honoured for their outstanding sporting achievements in 2022. At the "Family Day in the Küchwald" on the Küchwaldwiese, the following athletes will sign the City of Chemnitz's Golden Book of Sport in the presence of Lord Mayor Sven Schulze:
Emma Malewski from TuS 1861 Chemnitz-Altendorf e. V. - won the gold medal on the balance beam and the bronze medal in the women's all-around, gymnastics, at the European Championships 2022 in Munich.
Pauline Schäfer-Betz from Kunstturnverein Chemnitz e. V. - won the bronze medal in the women's all-around, gymnastics, at the European Championships 2022 in Munich.
The following Chemnitz athletes will also be honoured, but will not be able to be there on Sunday. They will be entered in the Golden Book of Sport at a later date:
Rebekka Haase from Sprintteam Wetzlar e. V. - won bronze in the 4x100 metre relay at the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Eugene (USA). At the 2022 European Championships in Munich, she ran to gold as the final runner in the 4x100 metre relay.
Nicolas Heinrich from Eisenbahner-Sportverein Lokomotive Zwickau e. V. - won the gold medal in the 4000 metre single, track bike at the European Championships 2022 in Munich.
